This talk gives a brief overview over the current status of the TeV-PeV neutrino flux and then discusses an analysis that has searched for the cumulative flux contribution from a large population (~ 900 sources) of GeV emitting blazars.

Seminar Felicia Krauss: Bert, Ernie, and Big Bird: Blazars as possible sources of IceCube PeV neutrinos

The IceCube Collaboration has published results on a neutrino flux significantly in excess of the atmospheric background. Due to low atmospheric background at PeV energies, the highest energy events are the most likely ones to be of extraterrestrial origin.

Zonsverduistering / Observing solar eclipse

Friday 20 March 2015

On 20 March a partial solar eclipse will be observable from the Netherlands. Employees and students are welcome to observe the eclipse between 11.00 and 11.45h at the Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy if the weather permits. Before that, the roof will be occupied by school classes.
